Push Through, Push Through! (2023)

This film follows a pair of 21-year-olds as they navigate the rich night life of Leeds, and with it the challenges of coming of age in unprecedented times.

Created as part of ‘Future Perfect: What's worth fighting for?’ in recognition of Leeds Year of Culture, the film was produced by Sky Arts partnered with Arts Council England, LEEDS 2023, The Space and Studio12.

After its first screening at the Everyman Cinema, Leeds, the film premiered on Sky Arts in December 2023, and led to my nomination for ‘One to Watch’ at the Royal Television Society Yorkshire Awards.

People Reading –Catapult– (2023–)

This WIP is the result of a year long development opportunity provided through ‘Catapult’, a scheme run by Northern School of Contemporary Dance and Spin Arts, to support emerging choreographers.

Myself, along with Luis Dunn under our collaborative name ‘Ironstone’ explored the use of character in screendance through the ‘slice of life’ scenario of strangers interacting in a library.

After an initial development period at NSCD, we are looking to continue the realisation of the piece in the near future.

Bert the Turtle’s DOA (2021/22)

Directed and choreographed on 2faced Dance Company, this short juxtaposed US Cold War propaganda with punk culture, resulting in a riotous journey into youth, conformity, and rebellion.

The film was officially selected for Motion State Dance Film Series (US), Inspired Dance Film Festival (Australia), nominated for an award in the General category at Exeter Dance International Festival (UK), and was the winner of the People’s Choice Award in the professional division at the International Screendance Festival, Iowa (US).
